Other Committee · Meeting of September 2, 2026

WESTPORT — The Westport Historical Commission approved an outdoor shower enclosure and a long-stalled pool terrace redesign in one meeting, while also clearing two stop-work orders. Commissioners voted 5-1, with Katrina Strozik dissenting, to approve Russell Baker's cedar-shingled shower enclosure at 1913 Drift Road, conditioned on a detailed drawing signed off by monitors Timothy Bryant and Deborah Chioffi. The commission voted 6-0 to approve a redesigned pool, terraces and retaining walls at 2015 Main Road for owner ANC Realty Trust, presented by neighbor Jeffrey Wade with help from Boston firm CBT after three years of review.

Abutter John Moriarty called the revised plan "a much better ultimate solution than where we were." Commissioners withheld approval of a pergola and lighting plan, citing visibility from the Westport River, and separately voted 6-0 to rescind two stop-work orders that had halted construction at the pool site.
