Westport Housing Authority Approves Finances, Debates Snow Removal at Greenwood Terrace

Other Committee · Meeting of January 21, 2026

Westport Housing Authority approves $14,465 warrant and hears reserve is near 60 percent of target. The board, composed of Chair Tim Haney, Elizabeth Collins, Pauline Brodeau, and Paul Stein, met January 21 and voted unanimously on three financial items, including a $1,840 administrative fee that will flow directly into the operating reserve, currently at $100,595. The management agent reported that property insurance rates will hold flat this year after increases of 9 percent and more than 30 percent in the two prior years, attributing the relief to strong claims management across the state's pool of 243 housing authorities.

An extended discussion on snow removal at Greenwood Terrace ended with the management agent committing to work with maintenance staff and property manager Ann Devlin on a robocall system and a written policy adapted from an Attleboro template — after board members noted residents had failed to move vehicles after a recent storm, leaving the front parking row unplowed.
