WESTPORT — The Westport Commission on Disability voted to spend up to $250 on redesigned outreach brochures and approved a final $200 payment toward a resident's wheelchair ramp. Chairman Brian Gallagher presided as the panel's treasurer, identified only as Lisa, reported balances of $11,092.66 in the handicap parking fund and $2,716.93 in a gift account, plus a $5,000 commitment already pledged to a landing-access project. The ramp payment, covering a gap left after a $2,000 Council on Aging grant to Southeast Railing Company, was approved only after member Kaylee questioned which account restricted versus unrestricted funds should come from.

"We need to follow up and make sure that we have everything in a document so that we can all look at it in black and white," Lisa said. The commission also flagged accessibility concerns at the town hall annex and Briggs Road fire station ahead of November's election and set plans to staff a table, using a donated branded tent, at the September 25-26 Harvest Festival.
