Board Continues Cornerstone, State Road Hearings
Westport Planning Board continued two hearings over environmental and stormwater concerns.
Planning Board · Meeting of August 11, 2026
Westport Planning Board continued two hearings over environmental and stormwater concerns. Chairman James T. Whitin and Vice Chair Robert Daylor pressed the engineer for the nine-lot Cornerstone Place subdivision on Sodom Road about a roughly 460-foot roadway waiver near Angeline Brook, a cold-water fishery hosting rare sea-run brook trout, with one member warning the board's "inclination... is going to be no if we think it harms Angeline Brook." The board unanimously continued that hearing to September 22 at 4:30 p.m.
In a separate hearing, KBM Design Group engineer Alvin Koko presented a revised stormwater basin for a 222 State Road bus-storage facility seeking after-the-fact approval to pave 40,000 square feet; staff said the basin's 2-foot depth falls short of a required 3 feet, and the board continued that hearing to September 22 at 4:15 p.m. Town Planner Michael Burris reported a $112,000 MassTrails grant for a boardwalk project.
